Proud Witsies in the US, including prominent alumni, gathered in Times Square this week to celebrate the University’s 100th anniversary with the Wits delegation led by Professor Zeblon Vilakazi, Vice-Chancellor and Principal.

The special qualities of this new rose variety are the dense formation of very firm petals that give the open blooms the strength to withstand wind and rain, and to remain virtually unblemished.

The would-be Witsies got an opportunity to explore student life, with an added glimpse of some of the impactful and progressive courses offered in the institution's five Faculties.

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Climate, Sustainability and Inequality harnesses the University’s diverse and extensive intellectual capacities, partnerships, social and cultural capital, and other resources.

Wits occupies a special place in the hearts and minds of Africans. Standing on the shoulders of giants, including more than 200 000 illustrious graduates, Witsies have inspired change and left an indelible mark on society, for good. #WitsForGood
